Data Privacy Laws around the World
There are plenty of privacy law handbooks available on the internet, but unfortunately many of them unreliable, too complex or just poorly structured. The DLA Piper’s one, however, I find very useful and comprehensive (http://dlapiperdataprotection.com/). Not only offer the regularly updated summaries a good initial update on a chosen legislation, they also provide an easy-to-use difference checker to help practitioners quickly spot the peculiarities of the legislations. To be even more attractive, the DLA Piper’s overview visualises the privacy laws in a colourful world map where different colours mark the rigorousness of the laws.
In the era of information overload and the large amount of disinformation about global privacy practices, DLA Piper's map is a welcome online tool. And of the top of that it is also free and regularly updated.
